""the ophelia foot article""
..what??
...to be honest, it isn't quite that. more of just "what is ophelia, physically?".. it just started with "don't ophelia's shoes look weird? is it why she floats?" ((paraphrasing))
and it's not even the length of a real article.
...and yes, this is a thing i've considered, if only slightly. looking at her animations, moreso her GREAT and NEUTRAL, they do seem a bit.. long? so, i came up with two ideas.
1. they're boots, and her feet are pointing downward.
2. they're not feet at all, it's leg all the way down.
the first is pretty self explanatory. although she does canonically wear basic red flat pumps(see ac25 portrait, card), i've always imagined(preferred) them as red laced boots. again, no heel. something like this;
the second..? ...requires a bit more background knowledge.
to me, there are two ophelias. the "more human" ophelia(1), and the "more time-being" ophelia(2). "human ophelia" and "being ophelia" for simplicity. human ophelia is.. "essentially"(not really) human. by that, i mean human anatomy. if you strip her down, she'll look human. main exception is the lack of privates, which is what i do for most "almost human deity-likes" (see ninon). basically just a human with super duper time powers and born in the time dimension. the thing on her head is a ribbon, and her arms are completely shrouded by her sleeves.
.."being ophelia".... leans more away from the idea that she's "nearly human". that being a "time-being" is more distinct from humans. seperate life-cycle, anatomy, "hey wait ophelia floats".. things like that. so, i propose this;
..yeah. by "it's leg all the way down", i mean gardevoir style. pins. standing with chopsticks. the idea is that "most of what you see is ophelia. and, honestly, as seen in the second picture, i use "which parts are ophelia and which parts are clothes" pretty interchangeably(shown hands indicates she wears sleeves), but left is the idea. most of ophelia is ophelia matter (a literal physical manifestation of time.)
...what was i talking about..? oh yeah, feet. right.
for case one, her feet always pointing down like that is more of a product of floating so much, and never walking. while case two is just "she just looks like that."
(..thank you for inquiring!)
